Just because you’re buying a used car, truck, van or SUV doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the latest safety features that have been developed in the last few years. Berlin City used cars (specifically, certified pre-owned vehicles) are newer models with low mileage, and many of our CPO vehicles come with all the safety features you want and need to ensure your safety and the safety of your passengers as you drive on New England roadways.

If you live in Gorham, Littleton, Lancaster, Conway, Bethel, ME, NH or VT, Berlin City Toyota has a number of vehicles with advanced safety features that truly do save lives. Let’s take a look at a number of safety features you’ll find in many of the Berlin City used cars in our current inventory.

Air bags—Today, just about every make and model comes equipped with numerous air bags to protect drivers and passengers. Some cars come with as many as ten or more air bags including side air bag curtains.

Lane Departure Warning Systems—These are designed to help drivers avoid collisions. Cameras and different types of electronic sensors are located around the vehicle to monitor its position in your lane. When you depart from your lane, an alert is given, and some cars even make your steering wheel vibrate to alert you that you’re veering from your lane.

Rearview Cameras—In the past, these were found mostly on luxury, expensive cars, but now many makes and models feature rearview cameras. These life-saving cameras are mounted on the back of the car and transmit an image to your dashboard or rearview mirror allowing you to be more aware of your surroundings. These cameras are especially helpful in crowded parking lots and when parallel parking.

Forward Collision Avoidance Systems—These systems alert you when you’re about to collide with something; drivers get a visible or auditory alert (or both), so you can take action to avoid a collision.

Electronic Stability Control Systems—This helps correct a swerving vehicle by applying brakes on individual wheels, giving you a chance to regain control of your car. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) claims ESC systems reduce single-vehicle fatal crashes by about 50%; this safety system is actually a required standard feature on all models 2012 and newer.
